25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee PLAY at Dobson High

So, for about 2 weeks I thought this was an actual spelling bee, but then I read the poster on the walls at school and found out its a PLAY!!

Some of my best friends are in it, and I absolutely loved it!!

I cried of laughter...it was that funny. Honestly one of the funniest plays I've seen, its definitely worth the $8!!!

Lucky audience members get to participate in the Bee ( and the unexpectedness of their words, and how they act.. is just GOLDEN!!!)

This play has got to be one of my favorites my school has put on! I think everyone should go see it!

April 2nd-5th (Wed-Saturday)
$8 at the Dobson Auditorium- seating on stage.
7pm Wednesday-Friday
2pm and 7pm on Saturday

The Light in the Piazza (DHS play)

Pre-show:
This play is very intimate. The seating is on the stage and we get up close and personal with the cast. Can't wait to see what this amazing group of kids can show us.

Show:

Wow! I knew that this play took place in Italy but I had no idea they'd be speaking Italian!! I give every single actor props because that's very difficult to do! The singing abilities of these guys are incredible! Dobson just keeps on surprising!
The songs are great, and the performance is outstanding! I really enjoy the fact that they are so close to the crowd. It makes you feel like your in Florence!
I love this play, even though its not a mainstream one that everyone would know. It's actually pretty funny! You go through a bunch of emotions.

Great job to Codi, Kyle, Brennan, Matt, Connor, Alanna, Nadia, Michael, Brandy, Whitney, Amanda, Riley, Natalie, and Xelha. Also great job to any other actors and the people behind the curtains who help the play go off without a hitch!A special congrats and a thank you to Mr. Navarro for putting this together and having it turn out so perfectly!! Keep up the GREAT work, cant wait for the next play!!

heres just a little overview(take off the invite)

THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA takes place in Italy in the summer of 1953. Margaret Johnson, the wife of an American businessman, is touring the Tuscan countryside with her daughter, Clara. While sightseeing, Clara-a beautiful, surprisingly childish young woman-loses her hat in a sudden gust. As if guided by an unseen hand, the hat lands at the feet of Fabrizio Naccarelli, a handsome Florentine, who returns it to Clara. This brief episode, charged with coincidence and fate, sparks an immediate and intense romance between Clara and Fabrizio. Margaret, extremely protective of her daughter, attempts to keep Clara and Fabrizio apart. As THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA unfolds, a secret is revealed: in addition to the cultural differences between the young lovers, Clara is not quite all that she appears. Unable to suppress the truth about her daughter, Margaret is forced to reconsider not only Clara's future, but her own hopes as well.

FNL (Friday Night Live at Dobson High)

What I learned from FNL:
Call 1800-666-safethechildren
Garrett Foster always wears a hat
Cassidy Hilgers likes to kill people and has magical breast milk
Alanna Kalbfeisch is crys a lot and is allergic to blue flowers
Aaron Decker has a lot of accidents in his pants...
Michael Schwenke got a boob job
Jasmine Garza is bad with old people
Jessica Miller crys and thinks codi is a gnome
Codi Videan doesn't like scary movies
Kyle Johnson lost his virginity to a dude and got stabbed in the leg
Conner Wanless smokes and molestes young boys
And I suck at 3-legged races
So basically this comedy show is the funniest thing I've seen!

They do little skits and they come up with it all on their own. Thank you Aaron and Cassidy for making a hilarious show! Plus, I loved how we, the crowd, were on the stage and it was like we're apart of the skits.

Last night was the 10 year anniversary, and its a fantastic tradition that our school has. I wish I had seen the other shows  in the past but now at least I know to watch the shows next year!!

Everyone at Dobson High or in Mesa Arizona should see this show next year!

Thank you for making me laugh and embarrassing me when I was called up to do a 3-legged race with Michael Schwenke! (We won...btw)

Also thank you Mr. Navarro and Janet Hoover!!

Hairspray (Dobson High School Play)

The BEST school play I've ever seen! Bravo!

Link played by the handsome Kyle Johnson. Penny played by the hilarious Brandy Reed. Amber played by the fantastic Whitney Reed. Tracy played by the amazing Cassidy Hilgers. Corny played by the great Ben Stapley. Seaweed played by the groovy Marcus Tipton. Inez played by the cute Kandice Tyler. Wilbur played by the goofy Conner Wanless. Velma played by the talented Alanna Kalbfleisch. And Edna played by the funny Jacob White!

I've never seen a school play thats been this good. The dances were fantastic. The songs were sung perfectly. And there was so much comedy, I was crying because I was laughing so hard. It is def. worth seeing. Great job Mr. Navarro!

Penny, was so funny I had to make myself watch the other amazing people on stage because everything she did was just hilarious! Amber, played by my friend Whitney, was great. I honestly didn't know whitney could sing and when she did..I was blown away. Brennan Dwyer who's Tammy, was so bubbly, and cheesy(In a good way) it just made the room feel brighter. Link was so charming, and soo cute I caught my self saying,"aww, he's so cute" but then I realized I was in a huge room filled with people, and I was probably louder than I hoped I was...and then it got awkward. Edna's fat suit was perfect ;). Its just an another masterpiece created by the students at Dobson High! Great job you guys, you ALL did amazing! I had a TON of friends that made this play what it is today. From the stage manager, all the way down to Amber Von Tussel.

Thank you to the stage crew, and the people behind the scenes that you don't see, for making the people on stage look great! Without you there wouldn't be a play! And that music! PERFECTION! Our band played the music so well, and perfectly they cant go unnoticed. Great set too!

All around it was an OUTSTANDING play, I have to watch it again!

See it TODAY, 4/21, Saturday
