MEDITERRANEAN TRADITIONS
DAY 1 - THURSDAY, JUNE 6
Greet your fellow Ambassadors in your departure city before boarding your international flight to Europe.

DAY 2 - FRIDAY, JUNE 7
Rome, Italy
Some of Rome's most noteworthy highlights are waiting for you! Your guide will take you through the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. The city of Rome, with its antique monuments and religious sites, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

DAY 3 - SATURDAY, JUNE 8
Dress code: Girls must cover their shoulders and knees. Long skirts or pants are appropriate. For boys, shorts and T-shirt to cover their shoulders!
Visit the center of the Catholic Church and the world's smallest country, the Vatican! Go in the Vatican Museums and admire the frescos of the Sistine Chapel. Wonder at the scale of St. Peter's Basilica.
Continue your adventure with a City Quest including famous sights like Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.

DAY 4 - SUNDAY, JUNE 9
Today, you will have the unique privilege to speak to a monk or a priest, who will tell you more about life in a monastery!
Participate in an emotionally rewarding service project with physically and mentally challenged children. This is a true People to People moment and a unique chance to contribute to the community at the same time!

DAY 5 - MONDAY, JUNE 10
ASSISI, ITALY – FULL ON PERSONAL GROWTH EXPERIENCE
This small town located in the central Italian state of Umbria is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order and one of the most popular Catholic saints in history.
This is one of four People to People locations for the Full On experience. The day long Full On Assisi program will push your limits and challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. After workshops and activities with your delegation, the experience will conclude with the opportunity to rappel from the top of the fortress wall of the city! For some, this will be the ultimate challenge.
From the top of the medieval walls of Assisi you will have one of the most spectacular views of the rolling Umbrian landscape.
This Full On experience has been designed exclusively for People to People Student Ambassadors.
ACTIVITIES
Your experience with Full-On will be full of overcoming fears, building confidence, and strengthening personal development. The day involves indoor and outdoor challenges, adventure learning, and the opportunity to abseil off a castle wall!

DAY 6 - TUESDAY, JUNE 11
Be inspired by some of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in the Italian city of Pisa. You will see one of Europe's most iconic buildings, the Leaning Tower.

DAY 7 - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12
FLORENCE, ITALY
Pay a visit to the Accademia Gallery, which houses Michelangelo's colossal statue, David.
Now your guide will take you for a walk through the city of Florence, you'll pass by the Duomo and the bronze doors to the Baptistery, known as the Gate to Paradise.
One of Italy's most famous products is leather! You will have the opportunity to learn about the production and processing of leather at the Leonardo Leather Works.
Become acquainted with the local Tuscan cuisine during a special meeting at an Italian "fattoria" and watch a pizza-making demonstration. Afterwards, put your knowledge into practice and produce your own authentic Tuscan meal! Buon appetito!

DAY 8 - THURSDAY, JUNE 13
Enjoy the boat ride along the Cinque Terre from Portovenere to Manarola.
Hike along the iconic "Via dell' Amore" from Manarola to Riomaggiore and behold the spectacular panoramic view.

DAY 9 - FRIDAY, JUNE 14
Enjoy a guided orientation of Monaco, famous for its royal family, the Grimaldis, and its Grand Prix racetrack. Did you know that Monaco occupies an area smaller than that of New York's Central Park?
Enjoy time to relax at the beautiful Cote d'Azur or have some free time in Nice.
Time to have some fun together! Let's go bowling!
Attend an educational meeting at the L'Usine Laboratoire of Fragonard. Learn more about the production of "parfum". A challenge is waiting for you: find out if you can smell and identify the different essences!

DAY 10 - SATURDAY, JUNE 15
Discover the beautiful French Riviera during a guided orientation of Cannes, famous for its film festival. Nice the largest resort town on the Mediterranean coast, also considered the capital
After a short welcome from a representative of the tourist office of Saint Jeannet you have the privilege to visit the La Mairie de Saint Jeannet city hall.
Community dinner: Time to have fun in the lovely village of Saint-Jeannet! Outdoor games are waiting for you. You will also enjoy a BBQ with your French friends!

DAY 11 - SUNDAY, JUNE 16
Avignon, France
Be welcomed by officials of the town of Draguignan. MR Fournier (the director ) or Mrs Libersa, will meet you upon your arrival.
Visit the Rhone American Cemetery, the last resting place of 861 soldiers who were killed in 1944 during the surprise landing in southern France. You will have an Official Welcome from the director of the cemetery.
Visit the Papal Palace, recognized as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO. The Papal Palace is the biggest Gothic palace in all of Europe (15,000 m2 of floor space, which is the equivalent of 4 Gothic cathedrals).
Take some time together to learn about your upcoming home stay. Ask questions and understand expectations for the next days with your European families.

DAY 12 - MONDAY, JUNE 17
Discover this old medieval town while having a guided orientation through the narrow streets. The movie "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves" (1991) was filmed in Carcassonne. Since 1997 this Historic City has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Enjoy some time on your own in the beautiful city of Carcassonne! Enter the city and walk along the Canal de Midi or visit le Jardin André Chénier.

DAY 13 - TUESDAY, JUNE 18
Barcelona, Spain
Work in small groups and learn how to cook the most typical Spainish dish, "paella." This rice dish originated in Valencia, where it is traditionally eaten on Sundays and during the fall season.
Be introduced to the work of Antonio Gaudi, Spain's most famous architect. First you'll admire one of the most interesting buildings ever conceived: La Sagrada Familia. Next, explore Gaudi's Parc Guell, a fantasy-like blend of architecture and nature.
During your dinner experience the passion of the dance with a Flamenco show.

DAY 14 - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19

DAY 17 - SATURDAY, JUNE 22
Split into small groups for a various beach sport activities with local Spanish students.
The Aljafería Palace is one of Zaragoza's top historical landmarks. Unique in its historical context as the largest surviving example of Islamic Spanish architecture. Since 1987 the Palace has been the headquarters for Aragon's regional parliament.

DAY 18 - SUNDAY, JUNE 23
Madrid, Spain
You will enjoy a visit of a real Spanish Cortijo, where you'll see how horses and bulls are reared and trained for bullfights.
You will be guided through the historic city of Madrid by local students- enjoy this truly special intercultural activity! They will show you the city through their eyes and will have as much fun exploring the Prado Museum during the Prado Quiz as you!

DAY 19 - MONDAY, JUNE 24
Depart from Madrid for the United States
Board the motorcoach to the airport for your return flight to the United States.
